VPP Region V Board Positions Elections
Elections for open VPP Region V Board of Directors' positions will be held at this year's Annual Region V VPP Conference in Indianapolis, IN. Each year in conjunction with the Region V conference, elections are held for positions whose terms are ending. This year, five open positions are up for election to begin serving at the end of the 2018 Region V conference.
Nominations will be open during our Opening Session the morning of Wednesday, May 23rd. Should there be a contented position, elections will be held the afternoon of Wednesday, May 23rd and the morning of Thursday, May 24th. Election results will be announced at the Closing Session:

- 1 - Vice Chair (2-year Term, Expires 6/1/20)
- 1 - Secretary (2-year Term, Expires 6/1/20)
- 1 - Hourly Representative from a Non Union Site (2-year Term, Expires 6/1/20)
- 2 - Director-at-Large (3-year term, Expires 6/1/21)

Safety Champion Award
This award recognizes hourly individuals who have significantly contributed to VPP efforts at your facility. (Awarded to hourly individuals – limited to 5 awards in 2018)
Outreach & Mentoring Award
This award recognizes a worksite within Region V that has shown outstanding support for VPP and the VPPPA through outreach and mentoring within Region V. (Awarded to a Company)
Mentor of the Year
This award recognizes an individual who has actively mentored a company in their pursuit of VPP. The person must be actively involved in outreach activities. (Awarded to an individual)

Industrial Hygiene 101
Industrial Hygiene 101 is for safety professionals or employees who want to learn more about health hazards. Attendees will learn how to:
- Review Safety Data Sheet (SDS),
- Find information on the www.osha.gov website,
- Practice using a Sound Level Meter including documenting the results,
- Ask the right questions to evaluate health hazards,and
- Document health hazards on a spreadsheet at their sites
The class includes an SDS Workshop, Sound Level Meter Workshop, Evaluating Health Hazards Workshop, and Creating Health Hazard Spreadsheet Workshop.
Attendees will need to sign up with OSHA prior to April 15, 2018 deadline.
